Level Up just received a 2010 CINE Golden Eagle Award! Thrilling? You bet. CINE has been widely recognized as a symbol of excellence in filmmaking for more than 50 years. Level Up won the award in the Independent Fiction Short category.
Level Up received the Audience Choice Award at the 2010 West Chester Film Festival and was runner up for Best Film by a Pennsylvania Filmmaker. This was doubly thrilling to get such a warm reception, since our last short film won Best Comedy at the same festival last year!

Tripping Up was just named a Semi-Finalist in the Action/Cut 2009 Short Film Competition. This was the 6th annual competition run by Action/Cut, and received more than 1,000 entrants from all over the world. Action/Cut was founded by Guy Magar, an accomplished film and television director. A while back I took a film making workshop conducted by Guy, and found his direct and practical approach extremely helpful. I highly recommend the two-day Action/Cut workshops if you are looking for solid advice on film production, including networking and film funding. He knows his stuff and doesn’t mince words.
Philadelphia Business Journal just ranked Crossbow Studio in 2009′s top 25 video production firms. Incredible to be on the same list as some of Philadelphia’s most forward-thinking and talented companies. Cheers!

Sunday night was a good night. Tripping Up won Best Comedy at the 2009 West Chester Film Festival, and was runner up for Best Film by a Pennsylvania Filmmaker. Leo accepted the award. The awards party was held at The Note in West Chester – cool place if you are ever out that way.
