Level Up screening at PIFVA Cinema Speakeasy

Tuesday, February 7th, the Philadelphia Independent Film & Video Association will be screening Level Up as part of their Cinema Speakeasy Series. This month’s evening is themed LOVE & GRIEF: A group of narrative and experimental films by local Philadelphia fllmmakers who will be attending in person. I’ll be there along with Jill Hackney, Krystin “Blue” Simmons (My Name Is Love), Robert Larkin (Romaine), and Katya Gorka (Last Words, First Thoughts)

Mighty Letter to Philadelphia

George Mason University Animation wins Pixie Award

Earlier this fall we created an animation to open an annual Alumni Celebration Event for George Mason University. That animation just won a Pixie Award from the American Pixel Academy. The Third Annual Pixie Awards received a record number of submissions this year, and honored 213 entries from all over the USA and Canada. The Pixie Awards honors outstanding work in animation, effects, and motion graphics. Our work was honored among a number of major consumer brands, including Sony, Bose, Lego and Pepsi – as well as some of the top animation houses and ad agencies.

Honoring the Philly 100

The Philadelphia 100 is an annual event honoring the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Philadelphia. This year, we were asked to create a series of videos to feature several of the companies that made the list. The videos were shown during the awards presentation at the Annenberg Center. To produce the videos, we travelled all over the place (Philly is a large region!). It was fascinating and refreshing to meet and talk with companies who are defying the down economy and adding jobs in the area.

Who Turned Out the Lights?

Last month some dastardly hacker got into the web server and started redirecting pages all over the place. Why? I dunno. If only their skills would be used for good, instead of evil. Anyway, rather than risk passing on any virus to unsuspecting visitors, I shut down the site until I could scrub it clean. That took a little longer than I expected. It also distracted efforts from our latest project. On the bright side, I took the liberty of updating the design of the site, and improving some of the signup functionality.

If you came looking to watch Level Up during that crazed time, I apologize. We’re back and you can log in and watch it now. If you forgot your password, or want to reset your password, you can do that from the Log In page.
